Is it possible to buy the AMG FOG LIGHT LENS ONLY for WA2028200256
Hello,
I have a 1997 SL600 with the AMG package. Unfortunately, the passenger fog light fell out and got dragged for a bit before I stopped. Miraculously, the bulb is intact. Is it possible to get the lens cover only? The part number is WA2028200256.
Sorry, you're out of luck. You can't replace just the lense on the Sport ( AMG ) version fog lights. If you really want a shock, wait to you see the price to replace the complete assembly. I see them on Ebay for $388 Each. The best price i've seen so far is at Auto Parts - Parts.com, For Every Part of Your Life @ $288.00 each.
Good luck
Does anyone know if the glass lens for a '99 sl500 sport foglight is sold seperately? I'd rather not spend the $300 - $400. for an entire new foglight unit. I'm looking for the left hand side lens. Every parts site and search I've done show only the non-AMG style lenses sold seperately.
If so, could you please provide the part number and likely place that would carry it? And.....it looks like it's held in with some kind of adhesive...would this be windshield adhesive or similar?
Also, a quick headlight question.....is there a brighter (ie: more light) Halogen option than the OE sylvania 9004 bulbs?
In reply to your question of a better headlight bulb replacement, I previously researched this matter thoroughly.
The OEM bulbs in my SL500 were horrible.... they would barely illuminate the road at night.
After all my research, I chose the PIAA Xtreme White Plus bulbs. After replacing them, I also re-aimed my headlights. The PIAAs made a HUGE difference!!
No need to go to an H.I.D. conversion kit, after replacing and re-aiming with the PIAAs.
There is so much technology to bulb manufacturer, e.g. How Tightly the Filament is Wound, Blend of Gases Used, Type of Coatings, etc. PIAA's technology is excellent.

No doubt PIAA have always been a leader in the industry. If it were just the bulbs that were an issue this would have been my route to better the situation but I think the US Spec Halogens make the r129s look hideous. It was always an eyesore to me and I couldn't wait for my Euro spec halogens to come in the mail.
