Thanks in advance for any advice - My car is an 01 SL with 66,000 miles. When I accelerate from a dead stop my car feels like it hesitates. This only happens under really hard acceleration. Under normal conditions I don't feel anything. Plugs have been changed, OBD doesn't indicate any problem. I can't find any issue with the engine and am thinking it may be something else. The transmission was serviced about 18 months ago and shifts great. There is also no hesitation when the transmission kicks down. I was wondering about a flex disk or possibly the rear end. There is no noise or vibration associated with the problem. Any ideas?

You may start with the simple things; sounds like dirty fuel.
Change your fuel filter, and add a bottle of injector cleaner in your tank. Or two.

look like bad ignition coil.... I might be wrong..... but that what it sound like.....
Horsepower: enough power to go from point A to point B
Torque: enough to get the car moving

0-60 mph: not in a rush
0-1/4 mile: about 5 minutes @ 2mph because no need to showoff

I have a similar issue. My 99 hesitates only on a hard kick down, full throttle application, It's really not a hesitation because it does not recover if you keep the accelerator to the floor, it just doesn't make power & starts to slow up dramatically. If you back off just a little it recovers & accelerates hard. New Plugs & fuel filter. Any ideas?
