Good luck Per, Myself I don't miss Norway due to the Fuel prices, Here in Qatar the Price for 1 liter of Petrol is 1/10th of the Norwegian prices- that feels good having a Fuel Hungry SL600
That's why I have a SL500, GMC 8.1, and a boat with 3 V8's. Don't miss Norway and enjoy $4,- a gallon... Have a nice vacation and have a cold one with some shrimps on Aker Brygge for me as that is the only part I miss....
I understand that the average is around $53000 a year. (Not to sure, I have not lived there for 25 years).
It just p...ses me of with all the taxes.
Anyway, I'm home in a heatwave. Had 35 Celsius today, just like in Lebanon.
Would be great with the SL. Instead I'm sweating my balls of in my fathers non A/C Mazda 323.
Salaries are high, with extremely high income tax and generally everything is taxed to death, Petrol, Booze etc.
That is why I haven't been back in 8 years and don't miss it at all.
Prefer the Middle East, where Petrol is cheaper than water, No Income Tax, Cheap Cars, (and booze if you got a liquor permit - even here it's cheaper than Norway)
In Qatar, a 1/2 L bottled water costs 1 Rial, 1 liter of 97octane petrol costs 0.8 Rial.
1 US Dollar = 3.64 Rials.
The Petrol is subsidized, don't know about the water.
I do not drink water, so I do nt know the price.
Just realize that the Middle East is not only Irak and desert. There is fantasic countries like Lebanon around, with a fasinating mix of Arabic and European culture.
"They are not as bad as they look", if you don;t p...s them off.
Sorry RKH, got little carried away. Fuel in Lebanon is +1US with a average salery of US 300 for a mnt .
I agree with you Per, Middle East is not bad and yes Lebanon is great(Syria as well) The GCC(KSA,Kuwait, Qatar,UAE, Oman) Countries are also well worth Staying in, and Petrol is cheap (feel sorry for you Per, Lebanon is expensive, but not as bad as Norway)
