Hello all
I make a diagnose tool for my SL (1 led with two wires and 1 key with two wires) .
I printed cs1000 manual with faults codes. Is it correct list of faults for my method?

Today i check my car on 16pin diagnostic connector and take next faults:
pin 3(CFI) fault 8 altitude correction signal from ignition control module -???? what is it?

pin 8 (DI) fault 17 -Crankshaft position sensor faulty -????(Engine started and worked prorerly and all correct)

Since the density of air varies with altitude, the fuel injection system varies the fuel delivery with change in elevation. The sensor for this is in the ignition control unit.

For fault "8" I would check the vacuum line that runs from the ignition control unit to the intake manifold for leaks. If that is okay, then the ignition control unit may be faulty. If your car is running fine, then I would not be concerned if you are unable to correct this fault.

Fault "17" will be generated if the engine is not running at the moment the code is read.

bestia, you asked,

"About fault 17: if i understand correct ,this fault vill be always , when i check a faults on not running engine with ignition is on ?"

I think Bob Terry is confirming that when the engine is not running but with the ignition on, this code 17 will be present.
