Update: I drove the car until the tank was half empty, then I filled it up and drove the sh-t out of it..........the check engine light went out....amazing.

Things like that will happen from time to time. More than likely its something as simple as a dirt particle landing on the MAF.
I wouldnt worry much about it.

Definitely either a MAF or O2 sensor. No big deal either way. If it comes back, you can figure out which one it is, and even which specific O2 sensor it is, by picking up a scanner with live data. They are $100 on ebay.
