Angry mechanical latches? never-ending repairs -please help

I have had endless problems with my top. (all hydraulic cylinders rebuilt..thanks Dennis)(rebuilt controller) and now the top stops when going halfway up. My mechanic says I need part #'s 129 800 0774 and 129 800 0874 for $1000. If you know what these are and do please help! Everything WAS working except the cylinders were leaking. Do I need these replaced or does he not know what he is doing? Where can I get them rebuilt or fixed or replaced on the cheap? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

fungus, if a mechanic was asking me for $1000 for parts I would be asking him exactly what they are and what purpose they perform.

If anyone finds out from the part Nos. what they are I'm sure they will post back into this thread.

If you have read the STICKY at the top of the page on top control, I would check the oil level first, check the position of the rear latchs, the only other thing I can think of would be to syncronize the windows and try it again. Good Luck!!

I would guess he does not know what he is doing...Does the window one-touch down feature work?

Smile Solved !!

Thanks a bunch!!!!!!! Thanks to everyone that helped. With your generous info and support my top is working perfectly with no more new parts. After speaking to my mechanic with the info you guys provided he was able to get everything working. The parts in question don't really have much other than the cyl which can go wrong. My possesion of that info 'inspired' him to get it working. Thanks again for saving me $1000!!!
