Maintanance( let's talk fluid contamination.)

I think we have to discus the fluid contamination that is done purposely or accidental.
There was a member from Panama with suspenssion problems he most likly did some repairs
got air in the system put the wrong type hydraulic fluid in now the system is screwed up and the wrong fluid evacuated, asking how much is needed.
But as you know nothing is that simble, even if he did drain the fluid out there is always going to be bad fluid in.
If the fluid you add is more heavy or light then the original there is no way to get it out.
Some of it will be trapped in the struts etc.
Ok almost no way.

To be continued, my boss/wife needs me.
May be my lucky day, who knows.

Regards.
aam.

Ok.
I am back.
So what happend to his hydraulic suspenssion?
By mixing fluids did he create a new brew of chemicals.

Did the oil gel.

We know the hydraulics are expending, car is up.

No Viagra.

Is clogged up so it makes air.

Are the return lines clogged.

Did he create his own refrigerant so it expends and contracts at different
pressure/vacuum.

So what happened to his car?

And now what happens when you mix antifreeze.

What happens when you add sealers in the top system like some members
have suggested.

What happens when you add injector cleaners in gas tank.

What happens when you mix refrigerants.

If there is no interest I will drop the questions.

Regards.
aam.

aam,
I would like to know what you have to say about adding injector cleaner. I have been using this in my vehicles for years....and something tells me, that you are going to tell me not to!!!

It's really funny that you mentioned this, because I have a friend who is...uhh...less than car-literate if you catch my drift. She put antifreeze in her windshield washer tank!

Even those who like to think we are mechanically inclined can make mistakes like that....
2 months ago i topped up the windshield fluid on three cars.
It wasn't until I was throwing the jug away that i realized it said Concentrated power wash soap.....
That will be the last Blue soap I buy!!!

There is no question that we all make mistakes and I have made plenty my self.

As far as adding cleaner in the tank or ells where for that matter.
I am very skeptical.

The tank and the rest of the system are coated protected, if you add cleaners in the tank then some of the coating will travel down stream and I have no idea what the result is going to be.

What about the gas filter, may be you can dissolve it.
May be it will damage the converters.
I don't know if that makes sense to you.

The method I would prefer is to remove the injectors, and clean them on the bench.
With special equipment.

And last but not list.
You must see the spray pattern and volume, and no cleaner can do that.

Hmm.
Think of it this way.
You have the cleanest windshield in town.

Regards.

But do you not agree, aam, that if the nozzles are clean (from the inside out), then the spray pattern should be fine?
I can't say whether injector cleaner in the tank affects the fuel filter, but I would be suprised.

Unfortunately....a gallon of concentrated soap...a clean car does Not make. After coming close to burning up the washer motors....i had to take the cars to the car wash to wash off the "dried on" soap... (it was -10 celsius at the time...)

Chris

On my threads.
My point is not to tell you what to do.
It is to make you think before you do and then decide.

Read how injectors are cleaned, spray patterns, and volume.
After you do that then you be the judge, and a more informed person.
Do you honestly believe you can put a mechanic in a can?

Regards.
