Absolutely. Even with the declared-value tax, it will still save you 75% or so, compared to the prices you guys over there are paying. I am happy to help.
Thank you again Chris! The rules over here states that if the item have a declared value of US$350.00, there's no import tax due, and the best way for urgent parts is thru FedEx, as their distribution center for Asia is based here in the Philippines.
I'm with Chris, I would also be willing to assist in shipping parts overseas. PM me and I'll gladly give you my address and I'll relabel and ship via your courier of choice. I'd be glad to help!
Glad to see another member stepping up to help as well!
I seriously feel bad for you guys in and around asia...after reading several different threads from one or the other of you, it is obvious that for whatever reason, Mercedes parts cost something like 10X what they do for us here in the U.S.
Like I said, someone somewhere is making a pile of money on the difference, but I am more than willing to run whatever box shows up over to the FedEx store and re-ship it to you. This should allow you to start ordering from parts.com and autohausaz.com and rockauto.com, where hey have all this stuf for a fraction of what the dealers here charge, which in itself is already a fraction of what your dealers over there charge. The problem is they normally only ship to North America, so this should let you get around that.
I still just cannot believe the markup you guys pay! Ugh!

Now where's that 2 page list of parts that I needed...hahaha!!! &
Okay guys.
I think I am worrying myself to death....on what should be a simple job.
When changing the rear pads, I found them to be quite "snug" fitting over the rotor. (The pistons are back all the way.) A quick spin around the block confirmed that they are too tight.
The rotors were replaced last year. I had them replaced when I bought the car, as they were below spec. I did not change the pads at that time, because they were pretty new, and I knew that I would be going to ceramic.
This is where I get confused.. The rotors I bought were Brembos. PN 25141 (278x9.0mm thick)
Brembo only lists one rotor type for the R129.
If I go to various parts searches, they list the brake rotors as follows:
1294230012
All 300, 320, 500 to 1995
1294230412
All 300, 320, 500 1996-98
Alldata lists the 1294230312 for the 1990?? While the Russian EPC lists the 1294230012
Various Aftermarket Rotor Manufacturers list the same rotor for 90-96
Can anyone tell me if the 96-98 are thicker?
I know that if I have 1-1.5mm taken off my rotors, I will probably have the clearance I am looking for, but this seems strange to me.
And I don't want to go and buy a new set of Benz rotors, to find out that they are the same thickness.

I think your calipers are not retracting Possible pitting or have crap in them from neglect.
Regards.
aam.
Thanks for the reply aam, but I don't think that is it. The calipers are actually pretty clean (once I got rid of the brake dust!). The pistons are in good shape, and no sign of debris. The pistons are virtually flush with the caliper, and the pads seems to be sitting properly.
Could someone tell me if WIS shows the dimensions of the discs on the 90 and 96?
I decided to take the rotors in tonight to have them machined down, but I would still like to get to the bottom of this.

I did have a similar problem some time a go and what I did was to buy Mercedes pads as
they were thinner.
So I don't think cutting good rotors is a good idea.
Most likely you have the wrong pads.
An other way I did, was to go with PBR with out the shims.
If you have no other choice cut the pads.
Hope this helps you.
Regards.

AAM your timing is impecable! I was out test driving it after having the rotors machined when you sent the message!
I agree with you. They took off 1mm, so I am still well above limits.
I thought about the shims on the PBR's last night, but was afraid I would get the infamous squeel if I took them off.
Anyway. Thanks for you comments, and most importantly, I'm back on the road!
Now, if mother nature would cooperate....
HELP, working on the wifes car tonight replacing pads and rotors. I'm new to using ceramic pads. Where does the "friction pad", "gasket" go? I'm thinking on the inside, with the rough surface on the pad?
