I've been reading up about FALKEN FK 452 tyres and the reports are very good.
Has anyone got Falken tyres fitted or have had experience with this brand ??
FWIW, I've had the Falken Ziex 512's on my Audi allroad. They were just ok. Price was right, but they wore pretty fast. I replaced them with Pirelli P Zero Nero's and these are much better - smoother and handle better.

My dad's current SL500 has Falkens on it. They were a great handling tire, but they are already nearing replacement after around 10k-12k miles. So I agree they aren't the longest-lasting things around. To rank them, they lasted twice as long as pirellis on the old 300SL, and about the same as the Michelin PS2's he went to after that. Of course, the Falkens are significantly cheaper than the PS2's.
Really, I think the main culprit around here on tire-life may be the staggered AMG rims that do not let you rotate the tires. This has got to cut tire life down significantly.

That's a good point. It also applies to different tyre widths e.g. 8J's on the front and 9J's on the rear. If the tyres are directional too you can't even swap sides.
I had Falken and I never liked them, my car tracked to the right all the time, but just purchased new AMG 5 Spoke 18" staggered setup for my 99 SL 500 they came with General Acclaim UHP, yes I know they cost a lot less than most, but I am very impressed with them the ride is great, they handle great, look fantastic, and guess what my car no longer tracks to the right. They have a 380 tread rating I will see if I continue to be this impressed them, I know what I will buy next time.

My 2000 SL500 is currently riding on Falkens they are GRBFK451 245/45/ZR17. I'm really not that thrilled with them. They are ok on dry pavement but in the rain they don't grip well and in my opinion they wore relatively fast.
This summer I was planning up swapping them out for a set of Michelin PS2's but now after reading this thread I may opt for the Nittos.
I recently switched to General UHP Exclaims based on survey information posted on Tire Rack. I only have about !,000 miles on them so far but I really like them. They are quieter than the Kumho's I had before and they ride better.
I just had a set of Nitto Invos installed on my 1998 SL500 Sport. I chose these tires after reading the forums and talking with some people who had bought Nittos. I got them at Discount Tire and can't say enough nice things about the store near me (they even fixed a flat on my girlfriend's Jeep for free, just because I'm a customer) I paid $982.64 for 2 245/40ZR-18 and 2 275/35ZR-18 I will get back to everyone with a follow up as to how these tires perform and last.
EDIT: I've merged your new topic with this current thread on tyres to keep everything together.

So these are the correct sizes for our cars with 18" staggered AMG's?
I am going to write it down on a sticky note and keep it around, for when I want to change tires. I actually went with a taller sidewall, trying to improve the ride when I went to these crappy Pilot-Sport A/S's (which didn't work), and to boot I ended up with some rubbing when the wheel is nearing the full-over position on either side.
Now I want to go back to the size that is supposed to be there, to eliminate the rubbing, but I still want a softer-ride. The roads in my neighborhood suck.

So what size Pilot Sport A/S, front and rear, did you end up with that caused rubbing?
