Will these wheels fit?

Will 04-06 SL500 18" wheels fit my 96 SL320 without shims or anything extra? Looking at a pair of staggered wheels 18x8.5 front with 18x9.5 rear. Thanks for any advise.

You would need to provide us with the ET (offset) of the new wheels.

Thanks, I'll see if I can find that information, they are MB wheels, with numbers 65322 and 65323. More to follow.

wheels

Went to TireRack and looked up 18" AMG wheel offset which they say is 30mm Front, 33mm Rear, I can only assume this would be the OEM offset. What do you think?

PS. I saw these wheels on a members SL320 and thought they really looked good, PM him but msg has not been read yet. Thanks

Hi...I have the 04 sl wheels on my 97. The tire size is 285/35/18 on the rear with the rim being 9.5 and the front size is 255/40/18 on a 8.5 factory stock rims. I haven't had any problems. My local dealer wasn't sure if they would mess with the abs computer, but they didn't. My car came stock with 16" rims and tires. Hope this helps....

With that offset you should be OK........... However...........

The rears should be OK but before spending money on expensive H&R wheel spacers put the wheels on and check that the front wheels do not rub on anything.

IMPORTANT: make sure that the wheel bolts have the correct amount of thread protruding from the new wheels. Too little and the wheels could literally fall off and too much bolt length will damage brake components.

The best check is to push an existing wheel bolt through one of the existing wheels you have removed and measure the length of wheel bolt thread that is protruding.

Your new wheels with or without wheel spacers should have the same amount of wheel bolt thread protruding as the original wheels and wheel bolts.

wheels

Thanks to all, I believe the offset to be 35mm Front and 40mm Rear, for the OEM 2004 SL500 five spoke wheel, got this information from a fellow that selling the same set of wheels I'm interested in. They sure look good and will be a distinct improvement over the 16" wheels I currently have on the car. Chow........

i have 2003 18 in sl wheels on my 1990 and

to make them look right to my eye i spaced out the rear about 1/4 in and had to but longer bolts both front and rear

also make sure the bolt seat matches our wheels

they front brakes come close to the wheel spoke but dont touch

is a sweet look for sure
