ADS is standard on the SL600 and optional on the SL500. It automatically varies shock-absorber firmness to suit changing road conditions. An electronically-controlled, continuously variable, suspension constantly reads the road surface or the vehicles dynamics as it turns, brakes and accelerates, and automatically varies the firmness of its shock absorbers or struts, independently at each wheel, for the best combination of performance and ride.
Primary Benefit:
Adaptive suspension provides a level of riding comfort and handling control over a variety of road surfaces. It keeps the body as flat as possible in order to minimize body roll, front-end dive during braking and rear-end squat during acceleration. Hi, My car has the ADS suspension,I didn`t realise It was an option having bought the car second hand.
Its a 1999 model first registed in 2000
I was under the impression the only extras on my car are AMG 18in wheels & timber steering wheel & gear stick knob.
Nice... I like the color combo too... no reserve...? Shame I'm on this side of the pond... :-/
This 28K mile SL500 has almost all the options less the wood sterring wheel and shift knob. Note: It has ADS, SL2 package, Contour Seats with a rich metallic color package. I would say that this is a good asking price and could probably be negotiated down.
The Level control system is slightly different on my car , option 1 raises the car by 35mm, and option 2 increases the total height to 60mm
