It's been sunny for the last couple of days. I had no help, but with some carefully placed blankets I managed to manhandle the hard top off without scratching either IT or the CAR! Yesterday I took a half day off work, drove to Treasure Island, top down, and hung out for about 3 hours in the sunshine!! I love this car!
Here are a couple of pics of my 96 SL320. Includes Euro headlights, removal of awful headlight wipers (and new valances with no wiper motor holes) and amazing 3 piece AMG wheels 8.5x17 front and 10x 17 rear.
I surrounded the area around the exhaust tips with some flat black molding in order to protect the bumper's paint from the exhaust heat.
I was a little worried that it would look a bit "ricer", but am happy with the way it turned out.
I also decided to buy one of those universal boot-lid spoilers from Ebay to see what it looked like on my car.
I wasn't that crazy about it with the pano top on, but I think I like the way it looks with the soft top.
I think I'll keep it on for a bit and see how it grows on me.
For the record, whenever I post pics I always hope to get people's honest reactions, so all opinions are welcome. I also figured I'd post the pictures to assist anyone else considering the upgrade, that way they too can see what it looks like.
After 1 full day of staring at the spoiler from all angles I think I agree with 1992300SL's opinion. I think the rear of the R129 looks its best without a spoiler so off it goes.
In the meantime if anyone is interested in my spoiler paypal me the shipping charges and its yours. PM me if your interested.
Thanks for all your input guys, heres some more pictures from other angles.

So, I honestly express my opinion on the rear spoiler: the AMG spoiler is what I think the most suitable for R129, please see the attached pictures.

Finally got around to taking some pics of my car. This is right after I got new wheels installed as well as a xenon conversion kit. Yes the bumper needs to be replaced, but my birthday is coming up and thats the only thing I want. At which point I'll take some proper pictures of her 441 Impala Metallic.
I've only had it a week but here is my new baby... 2001 SL500
