Best thing is to get a charger that has a 2 amp trickle for when you aren't running your SL for extended periods. A good charger about $40 on sale is quite a bit cheaper than having to diagnose, repair, replace costly electronics.

I decided to charge up my battery separately on extended battery charger
This method doesn`t have a risk of damage Ecu and oter devices on car.
This method worked 100%

You can jump start a merc. but you really should have a surge protector installed first. AKA anti-zap.

What you want is the 12 Volt Antizap Permanent Mount
