Voice Activation System Commands List

Well, I just discovered that my new-to-me SL has a voice command system. I have serached through the manual and can find nothing explaining how to use it. I have searched the forum using every combination of the words in the subject line and still can't find anything. I pulled back the stalk on the right side of the steering column and heard a female voice. I determined I could change the CD track, but that's all I've tried so far. Does anyone know of a resource to give a list of commands? On a related note, should there have been a separate audio system manual with the car? If so, does nayone have a copy saved they could email to me? Thanks for the help.

Well, I played around with the system last night and discovered that by pulling the stalk towards the driver it activated the system. I said 'Help' and the system asked for which component I wished to have more info - Radio, CD, Phone or WB. Saying one of the 4 provides a list of commands that can be spoken. So, I was able to switch from CD to radio by pulling the stalk and saying 'radio'. It takes you to the last tuned station. I then said 'AM' and it switched to the AM band. I could then call up a specific frequency or go to the next pre-set. It was as easy as saying 'frequency six-eighty'. Like wise while listening to a CD, I could go to the previous or next track, ar call up a specific track. Very neat indeed. My BMW 525i has voice-activation, but as I do not have Nav, it only functions for the bluetooth connection to my Razr phone.

Quite a handy safety feature really, the ability to control the audio system without having to look down at the controls. The only thing I haven't found is the ability to change volume. I'll have to keep playing with it.

I tried that last night - no success. I think I'll continue to experiment with it - there are probably more things I can do than I realize. The 'help' menu was certainly helpful.

In the meantime, if anyone has knowledge of the system, I'd be grateful for a mnual of some sort. Cheers,

I was unable to find a manual or flow chart that explains what voice commands to enter into the system but it looks like you are aware of the 'Help' command. Please see the attached PDF's.

What audio system do you have for the car? European models weren't available with any sort of voice activated commands - I can't see the US being any different as the instrument cluster doesn't even allow programming for the APS30 Nav system.

Because he is a new owner of the car it looks like only another U.S. SA owner would be able to answer your question. But here is a picture of the 'Push to Talk' lever. Do you have this lever on your SA?

Maybe it's a good thing that most of us don't have voice activation fitted.
About three weeks ago I again nearly lost the car around a tight bend and for the second time since owning the car heard the metallic grating noise of the roll bar deploying.
I don't know what a voice recognition system would have made of the comment
