Softtop Fraying @ Edge Cording

1997 Sl500 80,000 m.. My soft top is begining to show wearing @ the edge cording (Cording that binds the soft top around the bottom). This is the area where, when the soft top is retracted or opened, it rubs against the sides of the boot compartment. The rest of the top is in good condition, so I really don't think I need to (nor do I want to) replace the top. Has anyone had this problem and is there a repair (e.g. re-cording, adhesive, etc.). It is really not extremely bad, but it is just there (annoying). You know what I mean. Any suggestions appreciated.

I think I would try just a drop of super glue at the edge of the spot where it is starting to come apart. This will stop it in its tracks.
