I have a 96 sl320. recently i have noticed that the SRS light function is intermittent, when i start the car it typically light right up no prob. but sometimes it is dim and i found that pulling the high beams on or pushing in the cigar lighter would make the SRS light up and function correctly but not always. when it didnt light up the blinkers would only blink to the left, even when i selected right.
but now the SRS light wont come on no mater what i do, the combination switch isnt working, the cigar lighter doesnt work, and now i noticed that the seat control buttons dont work.
I plan to check the voltage regulators function, I orginally thought that maybe it was the combonation switch but now that there is a combination of non functioning electronics i doubt it is that.

Sounds similar to problems I'm currently having with my 99 320.
The gremlin in my system is causing the following:
1) Operate left turn signal - nothing happens
2) Operate right turn signal - left indicator flashes
3) Electric seats stop working
4) Radio stops and aerial retracts
5) SRS light comes on
6) Most recently - window wipers stopped working!!
My car has been with my indy mechanic for 2 weeks now. He originally thought it might have been a bad earth so checked all wiring but no problems. Finally, he's replacing the relay control module - I think it's in the engine bay fuse box. Should be ready soon, and we'll see if the problem is sorted.
By the way, the short term fix for all the above problems? Flash the main beam once and it was ok........VERY STRANGE!!!
