As another post mentions, i just disconnected and re-charged my battery. After re-connecting the battery, the radio asked for a code. Stupid me typed in the wrong code and it keeps flashing wait. How do I cancel and type in the correct code. I disconnected /re-connected the battery and WAIT keeps flashing. I bet I'm not the only one who has done this..................
Thanks,
Ron
Thanks guys. You both were correct. The WAIT disappeared and Code came on in 20 -30 minutes. In the future I will punch the correct code.
Thanks again,Ron
I have a 90 SL 500 with no power going to the stereo at all. Fuse seem fine. I here there is a fuse in the deck itself. Also I have a techniques 10 disk changer and a techniques remote. The stereo looks factory but the face plate removes of the cassette deck and has two sets of about 8 pins. It has a sensor for a remote Is the deck factory??? The dealer is not sure!!!!
I don't think it's OEM, I've never seen a factory HU with a detactable face. Take a pic of it and post it here.

I replaced the battery in my 1996 C220 and lost the radio. After entering the wrong code many times (two different codes in the book and another different code in the mercedes dealer database), now its screen has numbers (like 22---) filling automatically. After talking to mercedes dealer tech. they advised me to keep the key in ACC while leaving the radio ON for 1-2 hours will reset the radio outof theft mode, but it did not help. Screen still has numbers (222--) scrolling automatically......Can anyone help? Thanks
Don't know about the radio in your 1996 C220 but for our SL cars it will be in locked mode for 24 hours after wrong codes were entered several times. So you'll have to keep the key in ACC while leaving the radio ON for 24 hours.

So this mean that you have to keep the radio turned on (and ignition on) for at least 20-30 minutes (or in some cases, 24 hours)? What if you don't have the patience to wait for such a long time? Is there a easier way to get the radio to prompt for "enter code" sooner? Many thanks!
