leak heat exchanger (radiator / cabin heater)

Hi,

1992 500SL

I have a leak in the heat exchanger (radiator / cabin heater).

According to MB it is 30 hour repair job as the dashboard has to be removed completely.

Does anyone know if is possible to bypass the cabin heater? I would obviously lose cabin heating, but I only use the car in the summer and have heated seats if needed.

Thanks in advance.

in other cars its very ez to bypass the heater. i havent

checked to see how it is in the benz.

just look for two rubber hoses going into the firewall, buy a U shaped hose (pepboys, etc) and hose fittings and you are done.

look in my cardomain, page 49.

it a very intense repair and i believe the dealer, it takes at least 30 hrs.
