Convertible top broken; hydraulic leak at rear wheel

I have a major leak at the rear of my convertible top, and with resultant inability to close the top. Can anyone help me with the part number I need for the piston replacement. I went through the forums and it appears that I would not have to flush the system afterwards. Is this correct? Also, where is the fluid reservoir?

Thanks. Any help is appreciated![:)]

The Hydraulic pump & reservoir are under your spare tire in the boot.
Don't know about the flushing.
See this post for a good source of Hydraulic cylinders

Refer to the attached diagram. Part numbers are:

2 = 129 800 21 72
3 = 129 800 21 72
5 = 129 800 20 72
9 small/upper cylinder = 129 800 17 72 (left), 124 800 02 72 (right)
9 large/lower cylinder = 129 800 02 72
10 = 129 800 16 72

If you are buying new, I highly recommend checking prices from Don at Calibermotors -- the link cited above by ErikFinn. You might also check with Phil at ***************** -- the "buy parts" link.

RE: Still available?

Your nuts to replace a bad cylinder with a 13 year old one. How long do you think the used replacement will last before you have to replace it too?

Buy new. I got one a few years ago for $120.

RE: Still available?

The hole assembly is 450.00 +/- for the front ones new. But just the piston will be much less.
and don`t be taken like me by replacing the hole thing, on both sides.
and than he asked me if he should can the old ones?
Well there is nothing wrong with them besides the piston. [8D]
