Just to give people here an idea I bought them new in the UK at approx. £50 each so roughly equivelant to $100, not drastically expensive!

Bob, I was at my Independent Shop today and I asked two 20 year veteran MB Technicians to show me where my 2000 SL500 rear axle limit switch assemblies were located and they said that they are usually in the place where your above pictures shows them to be but in my case we could not easily find the switches. So, I left there scratching my head as to where they moved them and/or where they are located.

Is this one of those instances that since MY 99-02 they are now located somewhere else?

Thanks in advance for your reply. Bob or Anybody !!!!!

There are no axle switches on '96 and newer cars. At that time the roll bar control module was eliminated and its function was incorporated into the top controller electronics. The new electronics included a new sensor that obviated the need for the axle switches.

Many used parts available from a '92 SL. Email or PM for more information

Thanks, does that new sensor need an adjustment when a >6/1995 suspension is lowered?
