560sl electric antenna question.

It appears that the power antenna on this 86 5690sl is not completely finishing...it leaves about 6 inches. It doesn't completely disappear.
Is there a way lubricate this? It will go all the way in if i physically push it down..It just seems like it is too tight for it to go on the own...will WD work?
Please reply to Rarmstrong@carolina.rr.com.
Thanks,

Re: 560sl electric antenna question.

I currently own a 1988 560SL that experiences the exact same thing from time to time. I use WD-40 sprayed onto a rag to clean and lubricate the antenna every other month. Since then, I have not had a problem with the power antenna retracting flush into the hole.

Re: 560sl electric antenna question.

I had the same problem with my 560sl 1988.
It needs to be cleaned and lubed. After that
I've had no problems. I found that making it
go up and down works better when driving.
ie clean and lube then work it up and down while driving.
