1981 380SL exhaust, timing...

Is there power to be found on this car by getting a cat-back exhaust system? How about by advancing the base ignition timing 2 or 3 degrees?

I don't think there is much to be gained, cat back. I think the cat's are the restriction.<p>Regarding ignition itming, I believe you can go to 15 BTDC but it depends on when it starts to knock.. Try Mercedesshop.com for a manual on CD that will tell you exactly.<br>Steve
