Good Evening Gents and Ladies,

I was hanging with a good friend of mine who builds Mitsubishi Starions (RWD turbo coupes) and the wheels that car came with really reminded me of the Penta AMG wheels. Specs are either 16x7/8 staggard or 16x8/9 depending if they are the standard or sport model. He let me borrow a set of the 16x8/9s and I must say, I love the way they looks. Now they are 5x114.3 but with wobble bolts I have had no issues, and the car has no shakes either. They are quite light to the feel as well.

Heres a photo of when I first put them on! I think the front of my car needs a bit of lowering :p

Thanks!!

p.s. A full set of these in the 7/8s can be had for 400, and the 8/9s for 800. Pretty good deal for what they are. And OEM quality too.

I wonder what the centerbore is. You do know that MB wheels/cars are hubcentric. Correct? So if the centerbore is larger than 66.56, you should be able to get hub rings to assure they are centering correctly. (I once bought wheels off an SEC owner who swapped Nissan Maxima wheels onto his car and claimed to have no issues with the slightly smaller center bore and 5x114 PCD).

A friend of mine's dad had a starion when we were in high school. Oh the good times we had in that car.

The Starions center bore is 67.1mm and the R107 is 66.5mm. I have yet to find a hubcenter spacer that is only .6mm thick.... Once I get the wheels balanced I will let you know how it rides.

I love the starions too, quite fun cars indeed.

Other than being five spoke they don't look at all like AMG road wheels. They look more like Chevy Caro wheels.
IDK what a Chevy Caro is (camaro?) but they check all the boxes for me. Deep dish, classic styling, light weight, and quality OEM construction. :wink

Please consult with someone whom you can trust with specialist knowledge on running these without the correct bore. One should not underestimate the importance of this. The stresses on wheels at speed and cornering, etc is quite significant, especially using wobble-bolts as your only "centering" mechanism. (I do like the look; however...)
