I have spent hours on the WEB. No US parts house has the parts numbers on file.
I think I found one at the SL HOUSE in the UK but they wants $70 to ship it.
Does anyone know where I can find a speedo cable for my 6 cyl in the US?
Thanks
I was on that site earlier. I could not search for anything. What is the MB parts number so that you were able to look it up?
There are no pictures. There is more than one and tips need to be right.
I have no idea. That is why I suggested the Classic Center. That is the last part number in the EPC so I think it is correct. Yours is the last year for the manual speedo.
Yours is electronically controlled? If so it is just a wire that plugs in. If you have to unscrew it that would be manual. Link to the Classic Center is in the EGv107 sticky at the top of the main forum page.
Here is the speedo side. this is the difference I see between this one and others. The wider collar to twist onto the cluster.
I found many used and new in Germany. Just not in the states. Its about 26 inches long. There are no pics on the link you sent me. That is why I asked if you were sure.
So far I ordered 2 things for this car and both were wrong. Exhaust pipes at the front and fuel pressure canister in the rear. I just cant be sure I have the right part numbers for this car and in this case I dont even have Benz part numbers. All the german websites post the cable with their own inventory number.
Thanks again for your help.
Getting part numbers from the EPC seems to be the only reliable method in my opinion. There are a lot of "up to" and "as of" notes that you have to follow carefully for your chassis, engine, and transmission number parts.
Also, I have found that you really can't trust the model Years for euro imports to the USA. Instead you have to do it the way MB does it, with the vin, engine, and transmission numbers.
So if you want us to help, just post or PM your VIN number, and transmission number if you have it too.
I am confused. 26 inches is not long enough to go from the speedo to the transmission. The old cruise control must still be there. The part number I posted would not be correct. It is over 66 inches long.
Sorry. I just measured again. about 50 inches. straight from speedo to tranny. I ripped out the cruise control module. It was all stuck and disconnected. I still have the button on the dash.
