On the back of the instrument cluster, not a relay only 2 contacts. Looks like a Benz # but EPC says not found.
Also looks like a Hella # but it's not in the catalog, they don't respond to e-mails either. It's part of the dimmer
circuit. any info appreciated.
Suspect it is a circuit that converts the speed sensor signals to drive signals for the dial. Haven't checked the EPC, but the second set of digits indicates which group it belongs to, in this group 54, electrical systems.
I'm starting to think it's a time delay device that works with the instrument dimmer switch.
Unit is from a 1983, 280SL. Can anyone with a 107 around that year tell me if something automatically, probably a light,
slowly dims and/or switches off when the instrument cluster lights are turned on?? A wiring diagram would be even better!!
I'm trying to use this in my 75' to get the electric oil pressure gauge. Thanks.
And a thank you to the folks at Sternzeit 107, it's the buzzer that goes off if you forget to turn off the lights when you remove the key.
