Hi ,
I am a newbie trying to get to grips with D jetronic on my 73 SLC.
Thanks to the forum and its fantastic comprehensive threads on D Jet, I have been inspired to try and get my SLC up and running !
So far i have had it running poorly(very rich, black smoke) and as it warms up fails to tick over!
Jobs i have completed are drain fuel tank ,unclog fuel pump,rebuilt fuel rail,new points, new leads,new plugs and thermostat
Today i took apart my AUX air valve only to find no gubbins (float or spring) inside .
So my questions for the forum are:
Will i be able to get the car running ,before i source a new Air Aux valve (Any ideas )??
Is it just a case of blocking air as engine warms up ,Should i get that far ???
