New here, couple of issues with the car

Hi, I have a 1983 280sl, and right off the bat, I am trying my best (through the help of this site) to learn more about the car, and eventually try to do what I can maintenance wise myself. I have little experience working on cars, but I will do my best. The pictures I attached are one before and two afters. The only problem I'm having right now is the heat shield is coming apart and falling off, I saw a thread on that, so I think I will manage. The other, more pressing issue is a rough idle, and an occasional stall when the care comes to a stop, or starts reversing. It doesn't happen all the time, however. From what I've seen, it might be a plug? I am taking it to a local mechanic tomorrow to try to get it figured out. Sorry for my ignorance, I'm new to all this and trying my best to learn.
Thanks!

Welcome to the forum!

How did you manage to hang your SL on the garage ceiling.....the hoist is supposed to be used for the hartop only!

Did you read through the EGv107, lots of good information there. Also, fill out your profile.

That danged gravity machines' been clickin' on and off lately, thats probably a plug issue too, right?
I am going to get on reading that right now, thanks. And once I figure out how to fill in my profile, I will do that too!

Wanted to update and say I got her fixed, no more stalling, it was just a low idle that was the issue apparently.
