My timing chain guide thread

So I am fully into the passenger side. I have the cam sprocket off and the right side guide off. I am looking at changing the tensioner guide and took out the lower bolt as you can see from the pic. But I do not know what is keeping the whole slide rail in.

Here you are, look the pics. I used these easy and simple home made "tools" to pull out the slide holder pins.

There are better and more professional tools available.

I do have Rowdie's pin puller. Sorry I didn't try that with this one. I thought whatever was keeping it in was bigger than the pin puller I am using.

That one isn't threaded on the inside (on yours). It is just a floating pin with nothing holding it. Try wedging something in the hole at a slight angle and pulling. .

Here is the one I am using, but doesn't seem to be the right size.

fill the cavity of the pin with some epoxy glue, insert a bolt, let it harden, then pull the pin out. or you could fill the cavity with epoxy glue, coat a bolt with some oil or fine grease, thread it into the epoxy, let it harden, then pull the pin, remove the bolt. just a thought.

Any lubricate wouldn't hurt. IIRC I used a large easy-out to remove the pin. Mine had a small burr on it preventing its removal.

Any pics and what size. Will look into the epoxy glue method too.

if you do the epoxy method, clean the cavity out with a contact cleaner first to make sure the glue sticks.................

lock tight makes a product for thread repair, it has an epoxy and release agent for the bolt. use the same and thread size as your puller, then you would be good to go for future pin removal.
