Other then yours, my cap. Do you agree that the short niple goes into the pump? Thats what the digram and picture show. If thats correct it should not be leaking out the end, right? So it was insert wrong (to stop leaking) and I need to find a metal end cap? The truth will come when I recive my checkvalve in mail. I bet the new checkvalve inserted like pictures show the end will not leak.

The check valve only fits in one direction. FP, washer, check valve (short end), washer, banjo fitting, washer, metal cap. No plastic.

Maybe the plastic cap came as packing protection to protect the threads.

Interesting, I can not understand how the OEM check valve can be assembled wrong way - the IN/OUT threads should be different sizes (?)

Your pump doesn't look oem, and if its not taking an oem check valve, I would replace it.
Potential problem:
Fuel psi's
You can't replace check valve
Check valve is mounted incorrectly

You only have one of them, shouldn't be too bad $$.

Right, from everything ive seen here the valve was in backwards. Got new checkvalce today at other home. Will check it out Mon/Tues. Will also post picture of new and old checkvalve. Recived info on pump pressure but it was in "bars"? Anyone know what psi is, thought I read 9psi?

Google is your friend.

Go to a bar to psi conversion site.

Good one, pickup extra pump in tucson, PSI max at 125psi. Wow, I'm surprised at that output.
