Post where is the fuel door release in a 1985 380 SL??

A friend of mine has a 1985 380 SL and no one can seem to tell him how to open his fuel door when the vaccum system is working. He can find any type of switch or lever to open it. He has been getting fuel early in the morning before his vaccum system can fully charge and the pin holding the fuel door closed is withdrawn. Any suggestions???

Thanks

The fuel door is supposed to lock only when the doors are locked.

For now remove the locking rod and plug the vacuum lines to the solenoid. Check to make sure the rod is not bent or the spring rusted.
Nedd to take a close look at the central locking sustem.

Vacuum system should recharge in the first 5-10 seconds after start of car. But like already stated, the gas door follows the main doors and the truck from either the button on the inside of the car or the key lock on the drivers door.

Timing has a lot to do with the outcome of a Rain dance.

Damn straight Jim.

If anyone is going to be rude and insulting to you, it should be one of your friends.

If it doesn't fit, force it.
If it breaks, it needed replacing anyhow.
