1980 280SLC project

Hi!

In my free time I'm restoring my 1980 280SLC. This is my long-term project since I'm very busy at work.
You can check the progress of the restoration on this site:

WOW!!! That is some fantastically detailed work. Excellent pictures to. It is an inspiration to my restoration project. I have many of the same rust issues and will be handling them much the same way.

Welcome and thanks for the pictures. You sir are truly an artist.

I am in cut, fabricate and weld mode also, but not nearly to the extent of the work you are doing. Sometimes when I see what others are restoring I feel fortunate that mine isn't worse than it is.

What is that white stuff you are using to coat the work?

That white stuff is a two-component paint (colour) based on epoxides. It is a heavy-duty colour.

Wow that is great! The car is good looking and I like the color scheme of black exterior with the 70s looking green interior, it seems to fit the car well.

Wow...thats a sweet looking SLC you have there, what are the rims you are running and what size are they...8x16's ?
Are the tyres 225/50/16's,they fill the arches perfectly.

Good luck with it mate,it looks excellent.

Cheers Crawfy !

That truly is a work of art!! Well done, love the interior as well; mine is the same colour all over being leather, doesn't look nearly as sharp as yours... the fabric gives it a nice two tone appearance. Good for you!
