Are the tyres 225/50/16's,they fill the arches perfectly.

Good luck with it mate,it looks excellent.

Cheers Crawfy !
I'm running Zender rims. Front rims: 8Jx16 and rear rims: 9Jx16, and all four tyres are 225/50/16 - and that makes rear tyre look extremely sharp . The car is also lowered for about 3cm in front and 2cm at the rear (this was done by previous owner when the car was still in Germany ).

Great job!

Over here, that car would have probably gone to the crusher!

When you say you are still restoring the car - What else is there still to do?

It would probably break your heart to see how many cars in the US, in much better condition, go to the scrap heap. This has always driven me crazy - how quickly we in the US will junk things and get something new, simply because it doesn't make economic sense (=most people don't have the skills) to repair things, or, just that they want something new. And these are generally the same people who turn the thermostat down a degree and think that they are singlehandedly saving the world.

In the boom times (90's) in Atlanta, I saw perfectly good, rust-free, drivable and licenseable cars driven to the junkyard because the A/C didn't work, needed new tires, etc.

Absolutely fantastic work!! I wish that I had the patience to deal with those types of issues. You certainly have something to be very proud of.

Hi!

Thank you all for nice compliments.

I'm really sad, that cars like mine or even in much better condition are being crushed. But that is reality. Some people probably think that those who restore old cars are sort of stupid. But for me saving a car from being crushed is personally satisfying .

@MBGraham: Ohhh...there is still a lot of work to do, with mechanics, interior,...

@deezer5150: Well I have to admit, that sometimes I loose my patience. When this happens I leave my garage immediately before I do something stupid .
