Nobby, Thank you for all of this.
Do you or anybody else have diagrams for a 1976 450 slc. Have the intake manafold off and found all the "spaghetti" lines hard and breaking apart. Want them all replaced.
Thanks.

Here's a pick of my ride......

Nice looking car. The 1976 SLC would be mostly the same as the 1978 SL. The diagram for it is posted twice in here. You wouldn't have the emissions controls unless it's originally a California model, but everything else would be the same.

Unhappy 1988 560 vacuum issue

Today the car began to idle roughly with the e-guage pegged all the way to the right. The guage remains pegged after the car is shut off.
Prior to this the car ran smooth with no apparent vacuum leaks as the e-guage showed was always pegged to the left at idle.

Is there any one thing that could cause such a sudden large vacuum leak? The car appears to run well off idle.

thanks for any help

It sound like the vacuum line to the gage either broke or fell off a fitting.

should be visible.
