Why should I settle for one that isnt the color i really love. I would forever feel like it was incomplete. Initially I was going to settle but now I realoze in lon run I would be unhappy

Reminds me of a TV ad for Honda that runs in this part of the world. Guy is sitting in a Honda F1 car and asks the salesman how much. Salesman says $4 million. Guys asks if it comes in blue. Told "no", he switches to a Civic instead.
When it comes to a non-essential purchase like an SL, get what makes you happy. I wouldn't enjoy anything other than a signal red, or black. Some of the colors are downright awful, IMHO. Every time I'd walk up to the car, It wouldn't be what I'd want. There are a lot of SL's for sale, take your time and find the right one. Be willing to look outside your immediate location- you can always find a local shop to do a pre-inspection. Above all else, get what you'll be happy with- even be willing to spend a little more for the right car. If you scrimp up front, you'll surely pay for it on the back end.

That is exactly how I feel. Red is far and away my first choice, maybe another color will wow me, but for now I will keep looking and will try to keep an open mind.
