Just curious what the longest drive round-trip you folks have done in your cars? I think the longest for me was this previous christmas when I Yo-Yo'd to and back from San Diego to see the family in the southlands. I did about 1200mile on that trip and on the way back drove 10hours straight, which my back wasn't too pleased about. I think that trip was the one that killed the fuel accumulator, must have driven the shit out of it. Just wanted to see what type of endurance runs you folks have run.
Look forward to replys!

Well, mine isn't a round trip so maybe it doesn't count. I purchased my 73 450SL in April 2007, it was in Dewey, AZ and I drove it back to Lake Charles, LA. The one way was a little over 1400 miles and I did it in 1.5 days.
Believe me, I said my prayers driving that far in an unknown vehicle.
Don't remember the exact distance now, but around 1700 according to mapquest, I bought it in Pompano Beach FLA, drove to the sister-in-laws house in GA for the night, then home to VA. The next day took it and my son to Northern Connecticut and came back to VA two days later. Does that count?
It felt farther but it was about 150 miles from my house near Baltimore down to Fairfax, Virginia and back. I'd drive it farther with no real worries after the motor mounts are replaced.

I've driven it several times out to SoUtah and back. Round trip from where I live is about 1,000 miles. The only time I had a problem was the first trip and that was a combination of a failed part and a failing alternator. Since those were replaced, I'd drive this thing across the country, as long as someone else was paying for the gas.

Cool, man some of you guys really drove to get your cars. Nice to hear people talking about around 2000 mile, man I'd call that a LeMans.
To and from SLOB about 600 mile all in all cost about 150$ maybe a little less so Scott and I are in the same boat. To drive one of these cars across even a small part of the country becomes economically unfeasable given cheap airfare. I figure every time I even turn the key it costs like 5$ nomatter what so gas money is serious. I can barely afford to fill the motorcycle, when you put 7$ in and it doesn't fill the tank.
Bought my SL sight unseen. Flew down to SC, picked up the rattle trap and drove 18 STRAIGHT hours back to Toronto.
Do you know how uncomfortable the passenger seat is to sleep in? My buddy and I were both bleary eyed when we hit the border.
The engine ran great but the rest of the car was shot. It was a challenge keeping it between the lines.
And, I might add, I made the trip with no license plate.
