Unhappy Grey Market Coverage

I just got the news from my indie that mine is cracked. Does anyone have experience with this issue with a grey market car? I've got a 78 450SLC from germany. I called MB here in ABQ and they said they would fix it only with authorization from MB USA. They are closed until morning. Any ideas would be appreciated...

I'd call the classic center and see if they can lend some support with MBUSA.

When I bought my 450 SLC last month, the wheel was angled like the earlier pics. thought it was the wheel bearing.....Got the wheel off today and found the cracks. Anyone know what the latest answer on this is? If my MB Dealer wont fix it, what would be better-Find a used subframe with the work, find one without and add the gussets, or by a new aftermarket one?
