Hmmm. I've always heard they should both be replaced at the same time. But, you're the parts guy.

Let's sit back and wait for Ears to chime in, and see if this is what he wants to do before proceeding to the next step.

I can chip in $50 as well. I think it's possible to set up a Paypal account for something like this and we could all donate through there, but I think Paypal takes something like 3%, so it may not be optimal.

WOW! The outpouring is incredible. I am overwhelmed. I can't thank you guys enough... I know my friend (I'll be glad to supply his name via pm requests) will be very grateful. If this response were a phone call, I would not be able to talk... In fact, it has taken me a bit to collect myself enough to bang out this post.

Ron,

I'll gladly take responsibility for the core, and see it gets to you. I'll contact my friend and set things up. Once I get it scheduled when I can get to his house and perform the replacement, I'll get back to you guys. Ron has my phone# and address (as well as my credit card), and I'm in for any difference needed. I'll have to check on the amp, but as I understand it, my friend's servo valve is cracked and leaking. Maybe the electronics are still good.

With all your permissions, I would like to let my friend know from where this blessing comes (handles only, unless you authorize otherwise). I think I have a picture of his car and will post if I find it. God bless each and every one of you.

Note to Nobby... I take your jest in good fun, as I realize I have not been a contributor as often recently. I am living in temporary quarters thru the week , as I am employed too far from my family's home to commute. I do have an old laptop that I can connect to the net, but it is painfully slow. I guess I'll have to upgrade, and return to "mixing it up" with you guys. I do check in often, and especially on weekends.

Probably best to provide me with billing information via PM (alternative is the following secure order form: https://www.germanstar.net/Order_Form.html). Please include:

Name
Billing Address
Credit Card No.
Credit Card Expiration Date
Amount

Once everything adds up and is in place, I'll run the cards, send PMs back confirming the transactions, and send the Servo unit to Ears.

I wish I could meet each of you and shake your hand, and pass along the sentiments of my friend. I just got off the phone with him. I told him a good group of guys wanted to assist him with the servo, and I'd be coming by to install as soon as it was in my hands. I wish you could have heard his tearful reply as he asked me to thank each one who had a hand in this.

Ron,

At your convenience, feel free to send it on to me. I'll see the core gets back to you properly, you know how to reach me if something goes awry. I'll stand for the core charge. Let me know if we are lacking in funds and I'll make up the balance. If you cannot charge each who offered directly, just let us know so we can get you paid. E-Mail or PM me as necessary...

Once again, thanks to each one of you who have offered to contribute. As my friend said best, "God bless you all..."

Rory

By my count, we now have $500 against the $400 needed. Maybe we all PM Ron our info and when he gets a final count he can divide up the cost and bill each of us our share? So it'll be something less than $50 each when it all washes out.
