Hi folks, I am new member on the 107 forum. I have been in the 124 and 163 forum and the group there are very helpful. I recently acquired a 1987 560SL. I know this forum would give me added knowledge not to mention the fellowship each one of you share.
I am from Ontario, Canada and that means the 560 will be hibernating until spring. Something to look forward to.
I am sure I will be here for a long time as I plan to keep the car as long as I can.
Keep up the good work guys.
As to Nobby, cheating or lusting?, In the car world, it is called autoltery.
Till next time,
Al
Welcome to the forum, you picked the right one. Winter time is for working on the SL and summer is for driving. Anyway, Happy Thanksgiving..........your in Canada, Happy somethingday.

Welcome to the forum. I hope you have thick skin. (standard Nobby greeting).
It seems that there is becoming quite the Canadian membership here. The more the merrier.
At least I won't have to explain Canadian Thanksgiving..... as much. Or that other holiday in February...
Welcome to one of the best on-line informational sites dedicated to the venerable Sl 107. Nobby's admonishment notwithstanding, there is a great cadre of knowledge posted within the tomes here.
...and Nobby... explain that "boxing-day thing"... Kinda outlandish methinks.

What do you want to know?
Every Canadian is given 1 cardboard box distributed by the Liquor Commission the day after Christmas. Said Canadian is then supposed go out and fill it with 30 / 50 / 75% OFF merchandise from participating stores (all) that one wouldn't normally buy. Then, pour drinks, and talk about the great deals and how you got the black eye fighting over the last $0.99 copy of RockyVII .
I refuse to take part. I use the free cardboard box store all the handmade scarves, mitts and sweaters knit for me by various family members and the odd neighbor ( and I mean odd) who's driveway I shovel in the winter time.
I do like to pour drinks, though.
Basically, it is the Canadian version of BLACK FRIDAY....your day after Thanksgiving.
The only difference being...Canadians need not go armed.....

Bear in mind there are some ex-pat Canucks living elsewhere. Although I don't go armed, I'm in the huge minority down here. In fact, I don't have to worry when I'm out with some of my friends...they'll take care of business if it ever comes to that...
Anyhow, you can do better than "Ontario, Canada" as your geographic locator. Let's face it, you could be anywhere from Thunder Bay to Ottawa to Windsor to Hamilton. Or perhaps the big, congested T.O. (Is Yorkville still full of hippies? )
But anyhow, give us at least a better clue as to your location...

Thank you guys for the welcome. As to my location I am in the suburb east of Toronto. Yes Nobby, I've been reading the threads here and have been preparing for that before posting. How many Canadians are here in the forum? It would be nice hooking up next spring when the top goes down. Thanks again guys.
