Turn the key...nothing?
Hi,

Sometimes when I go to start my 83 380 SL I turn the key and get nothing, no idiot lights and the engine will not crank. If I push forward on my shifter in Park the lights will work and the car will start normally. This has just started lately.

Any ideas as to why?

Neutral safety switch, or adjustment of said switch.

Id on't know if your cars have them or not but my w123 has shifter bushings that go bad mess up the gears. Does your shifter have alot of play in it?

Concur. I'd just replace it, bushings too.
