I have a Euro 1979 350SL and I a mthinking about selling it to help cover some of the expenses of my new business. The car is in excellent condition, 112K, light blue exterior and beige intrior. The car is in showroom condition!
How much should I ask? I know that the 350SL is almost impossible to find, but I am not sure about the exact number.

Condition is the key , there's lots of these fine cars all across America as servicemen brought them back , some are rusty junkers , others are very nice , most lie in between .
You have to be honest about the rust and unless it was brought over in the 1st. year , it has rust .
They are not hard to find at all , I went to Boston for Thanksgiving and the small local paper in the burg I visited , had three ~ under $5K each , running and registered , one was even Mandarin Red .
Pix , we need pix ! .

The car is now at the bodyshop getting a new front bumper (I will have a spare bumper to sell soon - damaged but repairable).
The car is in a great condition. No rust since this was in Washington state all of its life, and the interior is in a VERY good condition. I will post pictures soon.

The 350 after 1972 was not sold in the U.S.A. , so the later ones are all European spec. cars ~ no catalytic converters , some different color schemes , better lighting that looks better too as it was what the car was designed for ...

yep, i know that but when US "350SL(C) 4.5" was rebadged to "450SL(C)", 450 was a worldwide model and 350's in EU ceased manufacture... wasn't it?
I newer saw any of 350's younger than 1973 and I only came across EU models. Also, I saw few 350's and 450's as 1973 models.
My 450 is 1980 EU model and has not any of the vasectomy procedures implemented for US "green" models hence for EU models it does not have to be 350 if it has no emission control... hope you get my point

The 350SL was released in 1971 , IIRC as a '72 year model , it took a while to take off as a seller , it was frightfully expen$ive , all the car magazine went ga-ga over it at the time .
'72 & '73 were poorly rust proofed , even the few that were sold right here in Sunny So. Cal. tend to have -serious- rust issues to-day . I've passed on buying quite a few low milage ones as they were rusted so badly .
I know what you're saying about Federalizing Euro model cars (or not !)
