I notice a few owners of W107's claiming they have a AMG R107...most are just ordinary cars with a body kit.Heres something which can claim to be a real AMG .

I think I must be missing the AMG gene. I'm very happy with my totally stock 450SL. If I was still in the market, I'd pass an AMG by and go look at other stock SLs.
Do you think this is a character flaw, or could it be congenital?

Have to say I`m with you on this one. AMG of any kind does little or nothing for me with the exception of some of their rims.

Do you mean that my completely stock 107 except for the AMG front air dam is not an AMG?

I still think the AMG package is too much like a 'sport' package for any other car. Yeah, there might be fancy extra gadgets, a notch tighter suspension, and different styling but to me (also known as cheap--right on, page62) it's just a bit gaudy. And I don't have heated seats, either. Okay, so it is a character flaw.
