Exactly, I don't know. I do know that I almost died lifting it up and onto the mezzanine in my garage...off a ladder. So I would say that my determination minus body strength = 130 lbs.

The figure I`d seen is 60kgs which is just over 130lbs imperial!

knobby do you mind if I amend your formula to" sheer bloody minded determination plus strength..."?

I have never managed the hardtop without two people manhandling it!

Stupidity should be part of the formula as well, I guess,

Anyways, I removed it off the car with a neighborly neighbor from the neighborhood...even I wouldn't have tried that....and will probably have my grandchildren bring it down from the mezzanine when they are trying to settle my estate....

OK, well that would explain why my arm is sore this morning. I took the hardtop off my car last night and couldn't find anybody to help me, so I did it myself.

I'd seen the 60 figure and thought it meant pounds. I guess I'll get that hardtop hoist I've been thinking about. After the new top is on. And the new carpet is in. And the new upholstery in installed. And the new paint job is done. And I've replaced whatever parts fail between now and when all the above is complete.

I figure I should have that hoist installed by the end of 2010, at the latest.

I wish my shop had a mezzanine. All I have is overhead storage.

I wish I remembered what I was watching - maybe the Simpsons.

Character 1: I've got to clean out my garage.
Character 2: Ooh. A garage. Lah-dee-dah - how fancy! A garage!
Character 1: But you've got the same thing, what do you call it?
Character 2: A carhole - and that's good enough for this neighborhood.

My god you took it of YOURSELF!

I'm amazed you didn't stuff your back or give yourself a hernia.

Even if lifting weightwise was easy the chance of dropping it on the car or damaging the hardtop is to much for me.

I've got till March to finish the design and construction of a hardtop hoist.

I'd better get cracking

Ninety pounds is a common number that shows up in a lot of the hardtop hoist threads.
