Incredible

I registered my 1973 450 SL with the MB Classic Center. On doing so, they informed me of a 21 year old service recall on my 33 year old car. I took it into my local MB dealer and they didn't bat an eye. They ordered the parts and did the work today. Now I understand why people buy Mercedes.

Blimey! And you know what`s also brilliant? That 33 years after the car was made the parts were there to order.

Awesome.

How/Where did you register it?

I'we been trying to findout if my SLC has been checked for same recall (subframe) and no luck!

The recall is valid in the USA for cars imported by MBUSA only. Even gray-market cars in this country do not qualify under the recall.

This was a recall mandated by the US government (specficially NHTSA).

Register at Mercedes Benz USA - go to web site and then classic center and get the number. There is also a classic center in Deutschland.

Actually, this wasn't that one - it was a service advisory.

Don't know what you call the part, but the steering arms that branch out from the sub frame.
