Just to log on this thead, I've been having a lot of problems with my remote door lock system, we had to go into the truck and turn the manuel sunroof nut to get into her. My machanic fixed it all and took out the remote mechanizim. ($85.00) He also by mistake cracked my windshield while tring to get into the car when the doors where all locked shut. I'm not going to get the windshield fix now. It will have to wait till I get a new or used windshield and after the repaint. As it stands now she'll be going to the paint shop on Tuesday the 3rd of Nov. at Sound Investment in Mohegan Lake NY. It's for a tape and sand paint job with Black acylic paint and poly clear coats. Boy am I hoping all goes well......
Well, my '97 is a total POS. AC, windshield wipers, PS, water pump, alternator, transfer case, ABS, door locks ....you name it ..... have all broken during its gentle 100,000 miles.
No wonder GM went bankrupt.
My '96 GMC Safari was one of the best vehicles I have owned, as well. Reliable and probably saved my wife's life when we were T-Boned.
Well it went like this. I went to fill the tank before dropping her off for the repaint. Well the Hess station was having some guys racking all there leafs ....into the enterence driveway to the station. What do you do , carefully drive around right......NO I went right through and pinned my little puppy....till the rear wheels starting to smoke and a little more since there wasn't anyone around. Man that made me feel good
Steve said he's having some guy from his other shop come up and snip and weld new steel in around the car. And it's going to come out as nice as his Vette.
