What does REALLY expensive translate to, in round numbers?

Well, I'm broke - I think they list around $200 each (X4).

I think (maybe) this might have been the difference between 5MPH bumpers and 2.5 MPH bumpers, the 5MPH requirement having been relaxed in the mid-80's.

Well I remember an article in the local newspaper of a guy that got 8 million dollars when the local hospital removed 6 inches from the wrong person. That 1 million plus and inch and that was 30 years ago.

Some people have asked, "where did I get the front airdam". I got it from gt_recycler@clearwire.net.

He is working on (and may be nearly ready) to sell a Fiberglass repro of the 500SL spoiler, which wouldn't be spongy and would be paintable. Had I known this, I might have installed an 86/87 center brakelight instead of the 88/89 - which won't work in the stock position with the spoiler.

Hey! strife2, It is done!!!(see avitar) Just need a perfectly straight SL trunk lid to perfect the molds! If you change your lid and want to get rid of yours with the brake light holes, let me know, its fine for what need it for! And you're not that far from me!

Here's mine. 1973 450SL

I just imported it into Canada on March 20, 2008. She had a total of 112,600 miles on her when imported. The only major item done to this car over the years was bare metal repaint at 103k miles in 1998. She was driven 80k miles from date of original purchase until Mar. 1988, and then only 13k miles by Feb. 98, and a further 10k miles by date of import into Canada. All Interior is original, and I have ordered an original Becker Radio to replace the after market Kenwood that's in there now. The original Soft Top is in near perfect condition (plastic windows require polishing). Plastic windows are clear, but there are some areas of abrasion.

To Do:
Fuel Leak in injector lines - Done
Trunk Light, Glove Box Light, Clock don't work - Done
Power Locking system doesn't work - Done
Window rattle on drivers door when window down - Done
Turn Signal won't stay in position for right turns - Done
Air Cleaner Horn Mount broken - Done
Fan Shroud missing bolt - Done
Front Lower Cowl missing bolts - Done
Foam pad rear of hood to be installed - Done
Chrome rear bumper joint trim - To Replace
Chrome trim left side of trunk release - To Replace
Front Lower Cowl to be - straightened and painted
Stainless Rocker panel trims - to be removed and polished
Rad tank, Air Cleaner, bottom end of Rad - To be painted
AC/Heater control assembly broken - To be replaced
Break release knob - to be replaced
Front left bumper section dented - To be replaced
Hard Top window seals - To be replaced
A - Pillar seals to be replacd
White rubber trim at firewall - to be re-glued
Hub Caps - To be completely refinished, or replaced
Wheels - To be painted
Rocker Panels - To be painted
A few other misc. body work items to be done.

The photos on my site show all of the areas of concern.

I will be updating the site as these items are done.

Visit my site: 450sl

I only hope I can get it to look as good as NormanB's
