$11,000 in project so far (needed clutch packs, cleaning)
It only has 17k miles, so I thought the trans was due to abuse, the engine seems hardly used though.
I had to fix the heater, but AC worked fine. All fucntions work correctly now, so I am going to work on the paint and interior. This picture makes the paint look far better than it is. I rubbbed it out, and got through it in a few places. It will be a good one when it is painted and a few new interior pieces. It smells like a combination of old man and vitalis inside.
The coolest/most surprising feature was the turning radius

Thanks for the great photos of your SL. Those Lorinsers look sensational.
Tough yet refined, they really emphasize the sports nature of the car.
I'm still trying to work out how to get my polished Lorinsers fitted with the issue being the front brake caliper size. I notice yours are a different dish at the front and would love to know what offsetand size the front rims are?
Cheers
Andrew

My 1989 300SL with a new set of Lorinser 16" wheels that I just bought:
I think that car looks a bit tall with the new wide rims, and i am not weather I should lower the car or not. Any suggestions?
great rims...where did you order them from..those fit perfect on the SL...in my opinion the reason the car looks a bit tall is that you might of gotten those rims a size too big..what size are they..but it still looks great anyways
