Have Euro style seats (380sl '82, cloth) at upholsterer, to be re-done in MBTEX.
He is telling me that the seats centre ribbing won't come out in the same way as the cloth ribbing, with the ribs clearly defined, and that he might as well use a one-piece foam backing rather than the individual felt strips which make up this ribbing.
I urgently need any detail photos of seats in MBTEX, in particular where the ribbing meets the front of the seat, since he is saying also that if I do them in the same way as per the cloth, the folded over vinyl will look bad.
I found some pics online but they are insufficently close-up, or of the wrong place.
I need these to show them to him, just in case I am being had, and so i know how this should be done originally.
(I will be trying to include a pic which is the best I have, what I need is something like this or more close up of where the ribbing meets the front of the seat. If it works out..)
I know it probably is more expensive, but wouldn't it be much easier to buy everything from Mercedes and have your guy just put it togheter?
Nothing fits better than the original...
Sorry committed and anyway I have an original replacement seat cover which does not impress much at all. Plus local benz dealer says "complete seats only"
