Just curious. When do the background checks happen here and what is the procedure?

I assume no one currently here will pass.

It's a fairly convoluted process in Massachusetts.

First take a firearms safety class ~4 hours $100.
Then you can get the application from your local police dept.
Fill that out and you can wait up to 40 days for the permit, another $100. in advance.

In many communities the cops will just forget about you, or not give you an application, or just keep stringing you along. Every few years they tighten the laws, the laws get challenged and thrown out, rinse and repeat.

There are also all sorts of laws on the books about how to store weapons and the pile of shit that hits the fan should you be an irresponsible gun owner.

There was a local cop here who got a bit too aggressive and lost his FID, and then his job.

VAWA makes any misdemeanor domestic violence conviction a "no go" for firearms. Actually a Federal felony for you to possess weapons or ammo from there.

ANY response to this thread results automatically in failure. Notice that the two posters prior to you guys were aware there was no chance from the get go.
