Doctors should compile binders full of gun owners and turn them over to King Obama.
Doctors oath is to first.. do no harm. I see no harm in finding out if a person who is depressed, under stress, having marital difficulty, or being abused at home, has access to a gun or there is a gun accessible to the offender. I see NO REASON at all to have that information come to light.
You, on the other hand, have all the reasons in the world. Which scenario, in the above list, are you subjected to? Why fear something that may save someones life?
To make it personal:
What if your sister was being abused by her husband. What if she goes to the doctor and is not allowed to mention that he has a gun? What good will come of it?

I was wondering about that the other night. Are "suicidal thoughts" a side effect of the drug or a reaction to the changes brought on by the medical condition, or is that what the researchers termed such tendencies in order to avoid the term "hallucinations?
You are allowed your "rights" at the convenience of the government.
Number of visits: 1.0 billion
Number of visits per 100 persons: 344.1
Percent of visits made to primary care physicians: 56.6%
One billion visits to doctors last year. Work out how many AD's by doctors per visits. Then use the same logic to attribute a 100% success rate to the accidental wounding or death per single gun shot.
I tried but I now have a headache and have to go to the quack..

Some people have had changes in behavior, hostility, agitation, depressed mood, suicidal thoughts or actions while using CHANTIX to help them quit smoking. Some people had these symptoms when they began taking CHANTIX, and others developed them after several weeks of treatment or after stopping CHANTIX. If you, your family, or caregiver notice agitation, hostility, depression, or changes in behavior, thinking, or mood that are not typical for you, or you develop suicidal thoughts or actions, anxiety, panic, aggression, anger, mania, abnormal sensations, hallucinations, paranoia, or confusion, stop taking CHANTIX and call your doctor right away. Also tell your doctor about any history of depression or other mental health problems before taking CHANTIX, as these symptoms may worsen while taking CHANTIX.
So if one quits smoking using Chantix one's guns should be confiscated?
Let us make it personal, shall we?
If he/she lived in my house? Sure as shit it would be unloaded and locked away until I deem myself safe from that person.
What you do is up to you. I just hope your gun toting neighbor is not on Chantix. Unless of course, you don't mind.
It's funny that all these gun nuts go wild when the FDA says there is salmonella in their beef, calling for heads to roll. Yet, a loaded gun in anyone's hand is just peachie keen!
OH, and they are the same yahoos who call their representative when they get a flat from a pot hole, demanding it gets fixed YESTERDAY! . It is mind boggling.
