BTW, good point, HBar!
Ventilation is a must, respirator (fitted) is a must, also.
NJ, my paint job is going on three years old. Aside from a small spot by the DS headlights that is bubbling (must've missed a small rust spot), she looks as good now as when I first sprayed her!

The paint is PPG (holy shit expensive!)

I have like ten junker cars I can practice on.

Since we haven't built the spray booth yet I'm going to spray out side. The real reason I invested in it was to use water based paints. I'm not a big fan of brain damage. Spaying in MD out side can be tough, but I have done it as long as the humidity is right; I learned the hard way to check the weather BEFORE you paint.

Painters usually use around .8 size nozzles for clear. Old pro's get away with 1.0 or even 1.2 to shoot clear.
Modern clear can be applied when the color paint is stuill wet.
Original Mercedes paint is made by Spies-Hecker, Glasurit is pretty good as well.
Spies Hecker may be owned by DuPont, but the paint quality differs.

There is a rumor of DuPont clear having a dendency to yellow....

We got rid of that piece of shit. The owner told me he was going to short me $50.00 because the ignition has "some key jiggle action, dat it didn't have before".

DP broke the ignition!!!

LOL, losers always have excuses. It's good thing you dropped him before he blames you for the whole condition of the car.
